Thankful

What to say?? Back in Philly and it's Chilly!!
Brody had a severe episode back home and we jumped on a plane to come back to CHOP. His gallbladder is giving him major issues... Now he has pancreatitis because his gallbladder is not well. Brody is a champ! He's strong... But being here is no fun! We try and make it as non traumatic as possible but that's impossible! Currently Brody is strapped down in basically a straight jacket to do a hyda scan. They inject meds and scan his body to see how his liver digests the meds.. Then they give a med to make the gallbladder spasm or squeeze to see if it empties as it should.
Hearing him say mama and not being able to pick him up and comfort him goes against every bone in my body! I pace back and forth and take deep breaths... This exam is two hours!!! Say a prayer for peace for B. Later today or tomorrow Brody will go for a central line. His IV access is horrible and yesterday he had 8 sticks, two sticks in his arteries in his wrists with no luck. He was severely dehydrated and there's no way anyone was getting any blood from him.  Was not a good day... But then we were done!  We went for rides... Went to the playroom to see NEMO and of course played with Monster trucks!
We've seen about 100 different doctors over the last two weeks... General surgery.. GI surgery... Cardiac... Anesthesia... I'm could go on and on... But I think we're finally getting somewhere.
After this scan they will be able to determine if his gallbladder needs to come out... Which I'm pretty sure it does. We're also struggling with Brody's blood work... He got sick quick so his kidney and liver need to recoup as well.
We had a little scare with his blood pressure but was resolved with fluid. He was not eating or drinking so his blood pressure tanked! But he better now!
We are here and making the best of it for Brody... This is his norm so some of it HAS to be fun.
Missing our girl terribly...but thankful we have such great family to take care of her! Grandma Di is staying with Charli....we know she's well taken care of but miss her so!! She had her first dance performance and we missed it... But she did awesome and looked beautiful.
Be thankful today! Im thankful for my family...family is what makes us hold strong. Thankful we were able to travel here for Brody. Thankful we still have this beautiful beautiful boy!!
God is good.. Kiss the ones you love
