Saturday May 19th

What a night, we stayed the night at the hospital to keep a close eye on our little man. He had a rough night...once he was off the ventilator he started to have a fever, then he had low blood pressure, so we are slowly but surely getting use to all the alarms CONSTANTLY going off.  We  had an uneventful morning because his fever came down and all was well...then he spiked a fever again...and his breathing became more rapid. I can't relax and I know Seth can't either:-( We finally left the room around 11 to go grab something to eat...then Starbucks was closed!!! WHAT IS THAT ALL ABOUT??? Anyways Brody's breathing is becomming to rapid so now he is on high flow oxygen to help with his respirations, one of the Doc's on tonight mentioned he may be getting some morphine to help him relax, morphine also is a vasodilator ( makes your blood vessels relax) so that will help keep proper circulation going.  His fever is still elevated so they are now starting him on more antibitoics and ran more tests to make sure that he does not have a fever. The medications that he is on does have a side effect of elevated temperature, but they have to cover all the bases so blood cultures were ordered and urine cultures  to make sure he does not have an infection. Surgery is Tuesday and they have to make 100% sure that there is no infection before they take our sweet boy to surgery. We did have alot of visitors today...we so appreciate all the love and support and all the prayers we have going for our Brody! Big sister Charli came today but was a bit upset that she wasn't able to hold the baby, I tried explaining it to her..but a 5 year old could care less about explanations. She is having fun with her Auntie Corrie and her cousins. Seth and I SO appreciate all the help with her. It is hard to not feel like you are not neglecting her. My brother also came down today and got to meet his nephew. We are so lucky to have such an amazing family who is supporting us all the way!
